For lunch I wanted to eat something high in protein, some American food. I mean I needed protein but it didn’t have to be this high. I was eyeing that pork belly in a pâté with capers but then I noticed it had a shot of cayenne so I decided to stay away. I really wanted to try it and after the second bite I just couldn’t stop myself. I couldn’t help but taste it again and to say the least the portion was right. That dish would have made the most amazing meal if I hadn’t had no desire to share it with my kids. If I can only do one thing it will be sharing those wonderful little bites of goodness.

The waitress was making coffee for me with a sugar caramel sauce that was “for rich people”. I told her I didn’t care, I had brown coffee and I had blueberries in the morning. She said that was OK, but what she was really going to do was warm the coffee up. I asked her to warm it with no sugar. She said she could and would do it. I said, “What are you doing?”. She turned it down to normal and I said, “It’s OK, you can just put it right back out and start on my toast.” She said she’d had enough and that it was my coffee I was being selfish about.
We had breakfast and lunch to get through the day, followed by a tour of the property, all included with admission. There was ample time to get right into it, and I would highly recommend doing this. The afternoon was fun, and we were able to run around at a leisurely pace in the crisp afternoon air, as one might have back in South Florida.
The ranch was impressive in its own right, and we were most impressed by the plans for another Dune movie. Even at the early age of twenty-two, I was quite familiar with Le Guin’s works. It was a total kick to see the project in action, and we were thrilled with the final results. It’s a testament to the skill, drive, and sheer dedication.
